The Last of the Soviets – Slovakia tour 2024

In the production The Last of the Soviest (directed by Petr Boháč), two Russian artists (Inga Zotova-Mikshina and Roman Zotov-Mikshin, both long-term residents and creators in Prague, Czech Republic) reveal the harshness of Russian life with an incredible dose of dark humor. The chilling jokes, the absurdity of situations, and the effort to trivialize are the main features of this performance, which is pieced together from the memories and testimonies of war survivors, the Chernobyl disaster, and the collapse of the Soviet Union. This multi-genre project about the power of the powerless is influenced by the works of Nobel Prize-winning author Svetlana Alexievich.
